Who Are We?
The 1st Ottawa Baden Powell Scouts Association (Ahlul-Bayt Scouts) is an Islamic scouting group dedicated to providing youth aged 5 to 18 with opportunities to engage in positive activities that foster essential values and traits. These include responsibility, motivation, discipline, respect, integrity, organization, punctuality, and cooperation, as well as cleanliness, friendliness, and confidence.
We place a strong emphasis on leadership, aiming to equip our youth with skills they can apply in all areas of life. Scouting also encourages a deep love of nature and the environment, promotes a physically active lifestyle, and nurtures self-expression through artistic pursuits.
Our religious teachings emphasize moral and ethical behaviour, along with the central role of faith in guiding our daily actions.
Our program is conducted in the Arabic language, as it is the language of the Holy Quran, and we actively promote its use in speaking, reading, and writing. This helps instill not only a love for the language but also an appreciation for the cultural and religious heritage it represents.
Through scouting, young individuals develop into well-rounded, resourceful leaders who serve as positive role models in society.
