Otters

The Otters (ages 5 -7) are the youngest trailblazers at AB Scouts, and their journey begins with wonder, joy, and meaningful learning. At this vibrant stage, we focus on nurturing foundational Islamic values through hands-on, age-appropriate activities that spark curiosity and build character. Through imaginative play, engaging stories, and teamwork-based games, Otters start to explore the world of Scouting in a fun and supportive environment. It’s all about friendship, discovery, and growing together! From exciting field trips to jungle gyms and nature walks, to outdoor picnics and creative indoor adventures, the Otters enjoy a year full of enriching experiences designed just for them. Every gathering is a step toward confidence, connection, and a lifelong love for learning.

Timberwolf
The Timberwolves (ages 8 – 10) begin to step into the heart of Scouting adventure—full of exploration, learning, and growing independence. As the youngest group to join us on wilderness camping trips, Timberwolves begin to experience the thrill of outdoor life while continuing to build on the Islamic foundations they’ve already learned. At this stage, we guide them in putting key Islamic values into action. Through engaging and practical lessons, they strengthen their understanding of core Islamic beliefs and learn the important basics of Islamic laws, helping them prepare for Salah and hijab in an age-appropriate and supportive way. Scouting fun kicks up a notch here! From snowy sledding trips and cozy bonfires to running their own bake sales, embarking on scavenger hunts, and more—Timberwolves enjoy hands-on experiences that build confidence, teamwork, and a strong sense of identity, all in an environment filled with purpose and play.

Explorers

The Explorers are growing into curious, capable, and courageous young Scouts—ready to take on challenges and deepen their journey both in Scouting and in faith. By this stage, they’re confident in the Scouting basics and excited to push their boundaries, stepping into more advanced opportunities. This is where Scouting really comes to life! Explorers dive into action with forest hikes, fire-building, wilderness adventures, and more hands-on activities that foster independence, teamwork, and resilience. They’re not just participants—they’re active contributors to the experience. Their Islamic education also matures, shifting toward building a personal and meaningful connection with Allah (swt), understanding the mission of the Ahlulbayt (as), and exploring how to live with purpose and conviction in their daily lives. Through shared experiences and plenty of laughter along the way, Explorers form strong bonds of sisterhood and brotherhood, growing into confident young Muslims with a passion for discovery and service.

Senior Explorers
Senior Explorers are stepping into their own as thoughtful, courageous, and capable young men and women. At this pivotal stage, they’re not just participating—they’re making a real impact within their Scouting family and beyond. This group enjoys the privileges of specialized camping experiences, wilderness survival training, and advanced outdoor challenges where they apply their Scouting skills—like knot-tying, fire-building, and navigation—in real, hands-on scenarios. Their adventures are deeper, more purposeful, and designed to build both character and resilience. Senior Explorers also engage in meaningful discussions on real-world issues, tackle community service projects.. They begin to truly live the values of Scouting through service, leadership, and self-reflection. Their Islamic learning evolves with them, focusing on topics relevant to the teenage experience—helping them navigate questions of worship, spirituality, identity, peer pressure, and their role in society. With trusted leaders they view as older siblings, they find a space of belonging, support, and encouragement. Creative, passionate, and driven, Senior Explorers are thinkers, doers and seekers—ready to take on challenges with faith, passion, and innovation.

Rovers

Rovers begin their transition from participants to emerging leaders, stepping into a role filled with purpose and impact. This is where their years of Scouting experience come full circle—put into practice through mentorship, and hands-on leadership development. Rovers work closely with younger Scouts, designing activities, offering guidance, and leading by example. They become role models, mentors, and the future backbone of the Scouting movement. Their outdoor experiences evolve too—diving into advanced camping, wilderness treks, and self-directed adventures that challenge their skills and expand their horizons. This stage offers unmatched freedom and opportunity—to grow, lead, and give back. Rovers explore their personal relationship with Allah (SWT) in a spiritually supportive environment that nurtures reflection, purpose, and growth. The Rovers are vessels of resourcefulness and potential, empowered through boundary-pushing activities that develop confidence, initiative, and a passion for service. This is where leaders are born—and where their lifelong Scouting commitment is renewed.
